NordPass, the password management firm, has just announced that its product is now integrated with the leading trust management platform — Vanta. This partnership will help organizations automate and ease the processes of collecting password management-related information required for acquiring various compliance certifications.

“To demonstrate their efforts in building cyber resilience, organizations must collect a lot of information proving their password management policies are in place, and working. While this process required manual work, together with Vanta we are now offering a smooth and automated way to prepare data needed to prove companies’ compliance,” says Karolis Arbaciauskas, head of business product at NordPass.

This automated password management data collection process helps identify gaps restricting companies from achieving compliance certifications, such as SOC2, ISO 270001, or HIPAA. It also saves employees’ time, allowing them to shift their focus from tiring reporting to addressing cyber risks. With the new integration, the compliance data is being updated real-time, which is handy both when acquiring and maintaining certifications.

According to Arbaciauskas, companies sometimes hesitate to adopt compliance automation because of the rather complicated integration process with service providers. To address this, NordPass has ensured that people with no advanced technical knowledge can enable Vanta integration themselves. NordPass Business, and Enterprise users with Admin rights can complete the setup in the Admin panel simply by clicking on “Connect with Vanta.”

“Security and ease of use are the core pillars in our product development, and we aim to reflect them throughout the entire user journey. With ever strengthening compliance requirements, information collection also becomes an inseparable part of it. Together with Vanta, we offer a straightforward and uncomplicated way towards meeting cyber resilience criteria,” says Arbaciauskas.

The OV01D1R sensor features OMNIVISION’s innovative integrated camera solution, with mono-IR + AON in a single, low-power camera

OMNIVISION, a leading global developer of semiconductor solutions, including advanced digital imaging, analog, and touch & display technology, today announced the new OV01D1R intelligent CMOS image sensor, the first sensor for the computing industry to address human presence detection (HPD), infrared (IR) facial authentication and always-on (AON) technology with a single sensing camera – while retaining low power consumption and operating independently from the laptop’s RGB camera.

Biometric authentication and HPD are becoming increasingly common in laptops due to the need for privacy and the convenience of immediate and touch-free login. HPD has traditionally been powered by AON streaming from the RGB sensor. However, the HPD is disabled when the RGB sensor is blocked by the physical privacy shutter.

“OMNIVISION has solved this problem by implementing a completely new sensor design involving the first-ever integrated camera solution: mono-IR + AON. Even when the RGB sensor is blocked by the physical privacy shutter, the HPD and facial recognition features can still be achieved by the separate OV01D sensor. The device maintains ultra-low-power streaming for AON while the 2-micron (µm) pixel has a high performance in terms of sensitivity and MTF (modulation transfer function), allowing it to maintain the HPD and facial authentication functions,” said Jason Chiang, staff marketing manager computing, OMNIVISION. “In addition, cost and module design complexity are reduced due to our ability to combine the capabilities of three to four sensors into a single device. We are excited to see the OV01D1R sensor implemented into 2025 model laptops and beyond.”

The OV01D1R features an innovative mono-IR color filter array that supports both HPD and facial recognition in a single sensing camera. Based on PureCel® pixel technology, the OV01D1R is a raw 1-megapixel (MP), low-power (4.7mW@3fps) image sensor in a 1/6.13-inch optical format. It delivers 1280 x 720 resolution at 30 frames per second (fps). Applications for the new sensor include cameras embedded into notebooks, tablets, monitors and webcams, as well as doorbell and home security cameras.

The OV01D1R is available for sampling now, and it will be in mass production in Q4 2024. For more information, contact an OMNIVISION sales representative: www.ovt.com/contact-sales.

Nametag patents breakthrough technology that eliminates frustration and security risks associated with resetting multi-factor authentication tokens

Nametag, Inc. today announced that it has been issued a patent relating to account recovery that, together with Nametag’s identity verification platform, solves a critical challenge of multi-factor authentication (MFA). Organizations using Nametag can offer users a fast, secure experience for enrolling new MFA devices using a government-issued ID and a selfie photo. The technology remediates a key user experience gap and a critical point of vulnerability that threat actors frequently exploit for account takeovers (ATOs) leading to data breaches and ransomware events.

“This technology marks an important milestone in multi-factor authentication,” said Nametag CEO Aaron Painter. “Organizations deploying MFA are quickly discovering that the account recovery process is a major blindspot in experience and security. Our technology enables seamless MFA rebinding that reduces cost and risk for our customers while saving people time and frustration. We congratulate our team on this patent and for bringing this technology to the industry to help improve outcomes in both security and user experience.”

Nearly two-thirds of users authenticate with MFA, according to Okta. But as companies increasingly adopt mandatory-MFA policies, they are faced with a wave of users who get locked out when they change devices. Companies need to verify whether these requests are from legitimate users trying to recover access to their accounts, or from bad actors trying to take over those accounts.

To do so, organizations often require users to contact the company’s helpdesk in order to reset MFA and other authentication methods such as passwords. But this creates a long, frustrating process for users and puts helpdesk agents at risk of impersonators who are armed with advanced social engineering techniques and AI-generated deepfakes.

Nametag solves these problems with the only account recovery solution built on identity verification technology that proactively prevents digital injection attacks and deepfake presentation attacks. Nametag’s self-service and agent-assisted solutions deflect MFA and password resets to self-service while empowering helpdesk agents to quickly verify whomever they’re talking with.

The world’s largest enterprises turn to Saviynt’s built-in-the-cloud platform with AI capabilities which provides superior security, access, productivity and compliance over mundane legacy identity platforms

Saviynt, a leading provider of cloud-native identity and governance platform solutions, today announced from its Booth #1606 at Identiverse in Las Vegas that its customers are replacing inadequate legacy systems with its automated, intelligent cloud-native platform, the Identity Cloud. The platform, which provides visibility, control, intelligence, and rapid time-to-value, protects more than 60 million identities and counting with an increased return on investment (ROI) so organizations can eliminate the cost of legacy and point solutions, manual provisioning and access certification.

“We were looking to free ourselves from the costs and burden of managing on-premises servers from legacy systems, so we sought out a cloud-native solution like Saviynt,” CISO at Ingredion Kenneth Townsend said in a recent case study. “We also wanted a solution that would be easy to learn and intuitive to manage, and that would enable rapid application onboarding. Robust reporting capabilities and the ability to leverage automation – as well as analytic insights from ML and AI – were also must-haves. We found everything we were looking for in Saviynt’s full-featured Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platform, the Identity Cloud.”

Saviynt’s Identity Cloud manages all identities through a single pane of glass, allowing organizations to mitigate risk and focus on what matters. Its intuitive user experience, centralized identity warehouse, and advanced analytics increases an organization’s security posture without impacting business operations.

“The vast majority of organizations that have implemented on-premises, legacy IAM solutions, have done so because of a lack of good alternatives. These organizations were trying to address very complex security requirements, satisfy regulations, and all the most complete IGA and Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions used to be legacy, software based,” said Henrique Teixeira, Senior Vice President of Strategy at Saviynt. “These organizations are dealing today with a massive technical debt challenge, which is many times inevitable with on-premises IAM apps. A Gartner survey says technical debt is one of the top challenges for infrastructure and operations for the past five years. Thankfully, technology has evolved, and organizations finally have a no-compromise alternative with the converged Identity Cloud offered by Saviynt. The Identity Cloud is stronger in terms of capabilities, offering full IGA and PAM features, and it is easier to manage than legacy solutions, because it’s a cloud delivered solution. It’s the best of both worlds.”

Legacy systems are falling short as the Identity Cloud improves operational efficiencies by up to 50% and provides the following benefits of an intelligent platform:

  • Consolidate Core Identity Security Functions: A single solution that combines IGA, PAM, and external and application access governance using the same management console, processes, and design characteristics that simplifies management and enhances the user experience.
  • Manage and Govern All Identities, Applications, and Workloads: With a 360-degree view of the entire identity landscape, organizations can manage all identities across environments whether on-premises, or in multi-cloud, or hybrid architectures. Organizations can also consolidate application GRC capabilities and gain cross-application separation of duty (SoD) management throughout the enterprise. The Identity Cloud unifies administration by bringing together intelligence, reporting, and dashboarding. It enables an organization to understand the overall health of its identity programs with actionable reporting against key performance indicators including service health, configurations, and compliance. The platform also delivers reports aligned to regulations and frameworks that reduce manual efforts and increase audit success.
  • Speed Deployment and Simplify Management: Instantly connect cloud platforms, enterprise applications, databases and directories, cloud storage, and more to accelerate implementation timelines with pre-built and out-of-the-box integrations via Saviynt Exchange. Its rapid onboarding capabilities, combined with hundreds of integrations developed by Saviynt and its partners, let organizations quickly add applications, significantly reducing the effort required to ingest usage and risk signals from critical enterprise applications. Organizations can Bring-Your-Own (BYO) capabilities for existing workflows, security keys, vaults, forms, and more to leverage previous investments and provide a consistent user experience.
  • Reduce Costs and Technical Debt: Legacy systems are inherently more expensive to implement, manage and keep up to date. Legacy systems require multiple components built over the years by various vendors. This technical debt increases management costs through constant upgrades, patching, and developer costs due to its on-premises architecture and heavy customization needs. Saviynt’s SaaS and configuration-based architecture simplifies daily operations, empowering both administrators and end users through automation and a streamlined user experience. Eliminate unnecessary coding to increase your ROI and reduce total cost of ownership.

“The Identity Cloud is an original built-in-the-cloud identity solution that enables organizations to stay on top of the exploding number of digital identities across on-prem, cloud and multi-cloud application environments,” said Jeff Margolies, Chief Product and Strategy Officer at Saviynt. “Innovation from legacy security providers is lacking. Organizations continue to face the same challenges each year due to complicated visibility and upgrades, as well as disjointed management. Our platform’s superior capabilities, with intelligence and AI at its core, eliminate human error by prioritizing decision-making access to sensitive applications.”

Saviynt was also named a Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for IGA with 91% of customers willing to recommend its platform. It is the only vendor to be recognized as a customer’s choice for three consecutive years in a row. It also received the highest number of customer reviews, the highest overall customer rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars, and the highest number of 5-star reviews when compared to other vendors.

Identiverse attendees can meet with Saviynt to view a demo of the platform May 28-31 at Booth #1606 inside the Aria Resort in Las Vegas. Or to learn more about why customers are leaving legacy solutions and choosing Saviynt’s Identity Cloud, please visit our blog.

New capabilities add layer of proactive protection and awareness to address risk of compromised credentials for businesses

Identiverse 2024 – Credential security leader Dashlane today unveiled Dashlane Nudges, a new automated tool to empower admins to proactively create a more security-conscious workforce and drive better credential security behavior across their organization, reducing the risk of credential theft.

Compromised credentials continue to be at the heart of the majority of breaches. According to Dashlane data, the average employee has more than 70 passwords, of which many are used to access business applications not managed by the enterprise. Based on an analysis of millions of users, Dashlane found that 13 percent of passwords in the average user’s vault are compromised and 46 percent are reused, which puts all accounts at much higher risk, especially if a compromised password is reused across accounts.

Security awareness helps users make better security decisions and improve their security posture, but too often is relegated to a point in time, such as employee onboarding, or when required for compliance. Dashlane Nudges empowers admins to foster continuous security awareness by informing and training employees to take action with targeted and automated messages via integration with enterprise communications platforms such as Slack.

“Progress often happens incrementally in security. As awareness grows and users understand the critical role they play in securing the business, the overall security posture of the organization will benefit greatly,” said John Bennett, Chief Executive Officer of Dashlane. “Businesses can create a positive security culture by reinforcing that every employee is part of the security team, and making good credential hygiene easy by meeting users where they are already.”

Proactive security, with minimal effort

Dashlane Nudges immediately notifies users if Dashlane detects that a password in their vault has been compromised via dark web monitoring, and provides users actionable steps to change the password and remediate the risk. Admins can also configure settings to trigger a targeted message informing the user directly about the security threat.

“Every credential not properly managed and secured represents a point of risk, especially given the explosion of SaaS apps in the enterprise,” said Donald Hasson, Chief Product Officer at Dashlane. “Dashlane does the work for IT admins to help them proactively monitor and act once risks or threats are identified. And, the solution helps users improve their credential security by making it incredibly easy to create strong, unique passwords, and switch to passkeys when appropriate.”

Dashlane Nudges is the latest innovation from Dashlane that provides proactive protection with little IT admin involvement, with features such as user phishing alerts for both web and mobile devices.

Dashlane Nudges delivered via Slack is scheduled for private beta this summer. Additional messaging platform integrations will be added thereafter. Customers can join the beta program waitlist.

Making secure access more accessible at Identiverse 2024

Dashlane Nudges was introduced at Identiverse 2024 in Las Vegas, a leading tradeshow and conference for the identity community. Dashlane is an exhibitor and has featured talks on the future of identity, credential management and passkeys, which include:

  • How Stanford Protects 50,000 Students, Faculty and Employees from Identity-Focused Threats, featuring John Bennett and Stanford University Information Security Officer Bhavya Gupta. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, 4pm – 4:25pm PT
  • Navigating the Passkey Landscape: Early Adopter Insights, featuring Dashlane Director of Engineering & Innovation Rew Islam. The session is scheduled for Friday, May 31, 8:30am – 8:55am PT

Conference attendees can find Dashlane in the Pinyon Ballroom at booth #1601.

Trust Stamp (Nasdaq: IDAI), the AI-powered, Privacy First Identity CompanyTM announces that it is filing a patent for an AI-powered process that improves the performance of biometric-based age estimation algorithms.  Increased regulatory pressure and the proliferation of age-restricted content has produced a robust and rapidly growing market for low-friction age verification.  Trust Stamp already offers an AI-based age estimation service, having announced its product on March 13, 2024.  With this new algorithm, error rates in AI-based estimation are reduced, and Trust Stamp will be able to more easily tailor results to complex client requirements.

Dr. Norman Poh, Chief Science Officer of the Company, commented, “This new patent application will represent Trust Stamp’s latest innovation in age estimation. The algorithm builds on the Bayesian framework to not only address the inherent uncertainty in predicting human’s age but also in ways that can reduce the effect of over and under estimation had raw age values been used. Moreover, the solution allows us to produce age category probabilities that can be easily tailored to different clients’ requirements and even to target demographics, thus making the age estimation much more reliable and targeted.”

Andrew Gowasack, President of the Company, commented, “With this new innovation, we fully expect our age estimation performance to outpace legacy products.  Calibration and categorization of the AI outputs will be an attractive process improvement for clients who are seeking a more accurate and customized solution for online age estimation.”
