According to independent research firm evaluation, customers view Axway as a supportive partner and well-suited for buyers embarking on API-led digital business

Axway (Euronext: AXW.PA), a leading provider of API management and integration software, is proud to announce that it has been positioned as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: API Management Software, Q3 2024, published on July 1, 2024.¹

“We are always honored when our customers share the positive experiences and outcomes they have had with Axway,” said Vince Padua, Chief Product Officer at Axway. “We’re invested in their success, providing the expertise and guidance needed to treat APIs as strategic business products.”

Axway was one of 15 select companies that Forrester invited to participate in its evaluation, The Forrester Wave™: API Management Software, Q3 2024. In this evaluation of its Amplify API Management, Axway earned the highest scores possible in seven evaluation criteria, including federated gateway management, API product management, and adoption.

“This recognition validates for us our unique API business strategy program, which is just one example of how we go above and beyond to ensure you extract maximum value from API investments. We empower organizations with universal API management tools that break down barriers and provide a single source of truth for the entire API landscape,” said Padua.

The report notes: “Axway focuses on digital business that is multicloud, multiprotocol, and multigateway. Its roadmap seeks to deliver a more unified product line, non-REST protocol enhancements, more gateway federation, AI for API creation and consumption, and gateway modernization… It is the only vendor in this evaluation to provide robust support for third-party federated gateways…” ¹

“The Amplify platform lets you discover, use, and govern APIs across multiple gateways, vendors, and environments, simplifying adoption and use of APIs. But providing an industry-leading API management solution isn’t enough,” adds Padua. “Just as essential is accompanying our customers in designing an API management strategy that will drive the best results from a company’s investment.”

According to the report, “Reference customers say Axway is a supportive partner that listens to its customers. They also love its support for third-party gateways.” ¹

With Amplify API Management, the global manufacturing and engineering innovator Bosch was able to accelerate product and service innovation.

“We manage over 2,000 APIs using Amplify API Management, with a volume of several hundred million transactions per month. These APIs enable a wide range of use cases, from connecting SAP S/4HANA with other line-of-business solutions to supporting smart heating systems for office buildings,” said David Geiger, Head of API Management at Bosch Digital.

“And with Amplify Marketplace, developers can easily find the right APIs without traversing the entire organization; this saves a huge amount of time.”

Baird, an investment bank and financial services company, drove rapid adoption with a central API catalog and secure self-service consumption with Axway.

“Today, our developers can see all the APIs their peers have developed, identify any application dependences, and check the source repository to see who last worked on it,” said Jim Cornelius, SVP, IT Architect at Baird. “With a central view of which APIs are available, our teams can leverage already-existing code or even an entire API created by another team to accelerate their own development work. Without a doubt, this capability is reducing duplication of effort in our development process — helping us to minimize our time to market for new data-driven services.”

Full Stack Software Development Kits to Ship to Top Automakers Beginning in Q3

Today Luminar (Nasdaq: LAZR), a leading global automotive technology company, announced it is launching Sentinel1, its full-stack software suite, following five years of breakthrough developments in Software and AI systems. The Sentinel solution enables automakers to accelerate development of advanced safety and autonomous functionality on vehicles, and includes Proactive Safety, Perception, 3D Mapping and Localization, Simulation, and Dynamic LiDAR features. The first shipments occurred this week, and are planned to be delivered to top automakers in the third quarter of this year.

Luminar’s Sentinel suite is a solution currently in-development to enable advanced safety and autonomous functionality with automakers, leveraging Luminar’s LiDAR hardware and AI-based software technologies developed primarily in-house by its software teams in Silicon Valley and Munich, Germany, with support from 3rd party software partners including Scale AI, Applied Intuition, and Civil Maps, which Luminar acquired in 2022. Sentinel differs from full-stack autonomous software solutions from other companies that develop software for driverless robo-taxis. Luminar’s development has focused from the beginning on giving automakers the toolkit of capabilities outlined above to implement next generation safety and autonomous capabilities for consumer production vehicles. With the launch, Sentinel is targeted to be assessed by and integrated into automaker software development efforts.

A recent comprehensive research report by Swiss Re, one of the world’s largest reinsurance companies, demonstrated that cars equipped with Luminar LiDAR and a development version of Sentinel software showed dramatic safety enhancements and a reduction by as much as 40% in accident severity. Details from the Swiss Re study can be found here. Luminar’s foremost goal is improving safety; however, Luminar, automakers, and end consumers can capitalize on the insurance savings to be realized with the safety and damage-reduction benefits of its technology. Luminar expects to monetize some of the benefits internally by launching its own packaged insurance product to automakers and end consumers.

“People know Luminar for pioneering LiDAR systems for global production vehicles, but since 2017 we have also been building next-generation AI-based software for improved safety and autonomy,” said Austin Russell, Founder and CEO of Luminar. “The majority of major automakers don’t currently have a software solution for next-generation assisted and autonomous driving systems. Our launch couldn’t be more timely with the new NHTSA mandate for next-generation safety in all US production vehicles by 2029, and as of today, we’re the only solution we know of that meets all of these requirements. This gives us the opportunity to dramatically expand our content value per vehicle in a high-margin capacity.”

Sentinel was first previewed by Luminar as a prototype in 2021 with a fraction of its current capabilities. The Sentinel software included in the kits is in continuous development, with the intent to be evaluated by automakers and technology companies for potential integration into future advanced safety and autonomous driving programs. Sentinel is built to be compatible with almost any consumer and commercial vehicle, including both combustion engine and electric drive train models.

Automakers can find more information about Sentinel and the evaluation program at https://www.luminartech.com/technology#sentinel.

Report Notes that DataDome is Expanding Beyond Bot Mitigation to Broader, Anti-Fraud Platform with Addition of Ad Protect & Account Protect

DataDome, a leading AI-powered online fraud and bot management platform, is proud to announce it has been recognized as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Bot Management Software, Q3 2024. DataDome received the highest score possible in nine criteria, including detection models, partner ecosystem, and more. In its analysis, Forrester evaluated 11 total vendors in the bot mitigation space based on high-level criteria grouped by current offering, strategy and market presence in order to help customers select the right provider for their needs.

Notably, DataDome received a 5/5 score, which Forrester defines as “superior,” in the detection models criterion. DataDome’s ability to analyze 5 trillion signals daily with multiple layers of machine learning ensures unparalleled accuracy in distinguishing between malicious traffic and genuine user interactions.

What’s more, DataDome’s enterprise platform does not come at the expense of usability and implementation. With 50+ integrations, DataDome runs anywhere, in any cloud; it is compatible with all major web technologies, including multi-cloud and multi-CDN setups, and is installed within minutes.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Bot Management Software report. For us, this achievement underscores our relentless commitment to protecting our customers, and proves that the best enterprise cyberfraud platform does not have to come at the expense of ease of use,” said Benjamin Fabre, co-founder and CEO of DataDome. “Our customer obsession drives us to continuously innovate and provide a seamless experience that delivers a fast time to value, stopping fraud before it happens. Today’s recognition is, in our opinion, a testament to our success in achieving that goal.”

In the report, Forrester writes that DataDome “has a robust partner ecosystem.” These partnerships help enable seamless integration, ensuring that DataDome’s platform is easily deployable and highly effective across various environments, while fostering continuous innovation and collaboration.

Keeping in line with what Forrester describes as an “ambitious goal of launching one new product per quarter,” the company recently unleashed three new cutting-edge solutions: Device Check, the most effective, truly invisible CAPTCHA alternative, Ad Protect, a groundbreaking tool against ad fraud from inception, and Account Protect, which stops fraud before it happens. Additionally, as the Forrester report noted, DataDome now offers a ChatGPT application on the ChatGPT Marketplace, DataDome Companion, which is designed to optimize and simplify bot management processes, with the ability to create custom rules with unparalleled speed and ease.

Furthermore, the report also states, “DataDome stands out for an easy-to-use management interface that seamlessly enables bulk addition of applications and discovers new applications that need protection” and recommends that “customers looking for a strong all-around bot solution that excels in ease of use should add DataDome to their shortlist.”

This sentiment is echoed in real user feedback, with one reference customer reporting that DataDome’s platform “is so easy and documentation so good that there was no need to have extra training,” and praising its real-time threats view as “invaluable.”

Within the last year, DataDome has significantly enhanced and expanded its cyberfraud platform, empowering enterprises to realize instant ROI. In the past 12 months, DataDome’s platform successfully detected and blocked approximately 350 billion malicious attacks. Customers benefited from a 99% reduction in account takeover fraud, as DataDome stopped 8.6 billion account takeover attempts and nearly 400 million fake account creations.

Today’s news comes on the heels of several recent announcements, including ranking as the top G2 Leader in Bot Detection & Mitigation, the launch of DataDome Account Protect and DataDome Ad Protect, the expansion of DataDome’s bot bounty program, the release of Device Check, and its channel partner program expansion. DataDome has received widespread recognition in the past year for its market-leading detection and mitigation capabilities, including being the only bot detection & mitigation provider to rank on G2’s prestigious Best Security Products of 2024 list, and more.

Follow DataDome on YouTube and LinkedIn for regular updates on threat research, customer case studies, and to ensure your bot protection is ready to tackle the most sophisticated attacks.

New study from SoftServe reveals less Gen AI value than expected despite growing use cases and internal limitations

SoftServe, a premier IT consulting and digital services provider, today released its findings of the latest study commissioned to evaluate current Generative AI (Gen AI) use across global businesses conducted by research and advisory firm Forrester Consulting. After more than 18 months since the release of ChatGPT and growing availability of Gen AI products, solutions, and services, the study revealed businesses are still experiencing less value than executives expected with only 22% of organizations reported effectively using the technology across all business functions.

Despite falling short of expectations, Gen AI enthusiasm grows unabated according to the global survey of 777 technology purchasing decision-makers involved with their organization’s use of Gen AI. Their responses indicated organizations continue to invest and pursue many use cases in search of ones that will deliver the biggest impact while simultaneously struggling with internal data readiness, governance, and skill development.

Key findings include:

  • More than half of decision-makers say their company established business goals for using Gen AI, yet 79% or more are concerned with their organization’s ability to execute those goals with current levels of internal or external expertise.
  • Despite 75% or more experiencing Gen AI skill readiness challenges, organizations continue to pile up use cases as most have implemented at least three use cases and will expand the use of two more, including plans to pilot at least one more use case in the next 12-18 months.
  • Just 51% of leaders are extremely confident their current strategy will allow them to reach maximum Gen AI value from future use cases, while concurrently, 77% are concerned with their company’s potential to realize business value in either the short or long term.
  • Only 42% of organizations have the capabilities to train Gen AI models and a staggering 89% face difficulties preparing business data for Gen AI use.
  • Less than one-fourth (24%) have governance plans in place, even though 90% agree adopting a governance plan is imperative to ensuring the responsible use and risk mitigation of Gen AI.

“Despite a swift start to the Gen AI race, many initiatives get stuck in the piloting stages as more organizations realize their data infrastructure isn’t ready to adequately deploy Gen AI technologies beyond the proof-of-concept,” said Alex Chubay, SoftServe’s CTO. “Gaps in skills and knowledge of emerging Gen AI technologies, technical feasibility, and data readiness hinder companies from moving beyond tactical wins in pilot mode to full-scale deployments enabling novel business capabilities and experiences. To make that qualitative leap to the next level, a holistic approach is required to orchestrate business priorities, use cases, and data across the technology ecosystem from the initial strategy down to the final execution.”

Gaps in Expectations vs. Reality
While respondents agree data is paramount to effective Gen AI strategies, only 3% said their organizations’ models can leverage a full range of six or more types of business data (operational, customer, employee, source code, public, and partner data), which was double the respondent average of three data types used. Moreover, a gap in technical skills persists as 88% say deeper technical expertise is becoming increasingly important for data integration, model optimization, use case development, and further application development.

Crucial External Expertise Needed
Despite the over-abundance of use cases, 80% of decision-makers claim their employees are currently struggling with use case awareness and general understanding of Gen AI complexity and 90% say their organizations need a partner with more advanced technical capabilities to see transformative value in future use cases.
According to the study, companies are looking for partners with accelerated deployment support (89%) and a better understanding of their industry (88%) to help with execution and implementation.

Notable Trends in Gen AI Results
The study revealed organizations reaping substantial value from Gen AI prioritized data, governance, and skill development with help from technical partners and experts. Of four countries surveyed, the U.S. took the lead in unlocking Gen AI value, followed by the UK, Singapore, and Germany, respectively.

Among industries, retail was most likely to harness Gen AI value and train their organization’s models on owned data, while FSI (financial services and insurance) reported more likely to encounter challenges before yielding any Gen AI gains. FSI leaders also reported releasing fewer governance plans than retail and other sectors. Companies across healthcare, life sciences, oil and gas, manufacturing, ISVs, and enterprise technology depicted an even divide in achieving Gen AI value. Separately, larger businesses with revenues greater than $5 billion were less likely to show Gen AI successes due to difficulties organizing the required capabilities needed across expansive hardware, software, and infrastructure landscapes.

Kentucky-based software development firm Red Hawk Technologies has more than doubled its business in the last twelve months while significantly enhancing its operational efficiency by integrating CAST Highlight into its novel and unique software development as a managed service (“SDaaMS”) offering.

The adoption of software intelligence technology has enabled the firm to cut software evaluation times from eight weeks to just two, adding significant value to their innovative business model, which bundles software development and technical support services for a fixed monthly fee. This model offers agile development processes, financial predictability, reduced costs, and operational stability for the mid-market segment.

“CAST Highlight has been pivotal in transforming how we manage software evaluations, in particular by dramatically reducing the time required for initial assessments from eight weeks to two weeks, allowing us to pass on these efficiencies to our clients,” said Red Hawk CEO Matt Strippelhoff. “This improvement in process efficiency not only boosts client satisfaction but has helped accelerate Red Hawk’s rapid growth, distinguishing the company in the competitive mid-market sector and transforming how our clients do business.”

Executive view across 286 applications using CAST Highlight for rapid portfolio analysis

Embedding CAST software intelligence into its SDaaMS offerings has enabled Red Hawk to accelerate and rapidly scale their model for digital transformation and modernization initiatives; among other offerings, the firm now quickly migrates client software applications from on-premise servers to the cloud, addresses tech debt, and mitigates legal and security risks around open-source software—all at a fraction of the operating cost of an in-house software development team.

CAST Highlight is a software intelligence product that serves as an application control tower, rapidly assessing application portfolios for cloud maturity, technical debt, resiliency, agility, open source risks, and environmental impact. It automatically understands source code of hundreds of applications in hours, empowering organizations to accelerate optimization for cloud, reduce obsolescence, streamline maintenance, reduce IP risks and security exposures, and make their software greener and more resource efficient.
