Upland Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: UPLD), a leader in AI-enabled cloud software for digital transformation, today announced that it earned 56 badges in G2’s Summer 2024 market reports across its portfolio of products, up from 44 badges in the Spring 2024 reports. The company’s AI knowledge management solutions, Upland RightAnswers and Upland Panviva, continue to garner numerous badges, while Upland Qvidian, an AI-powered proposal management and response software, increased earned recognitions another quarter in a row. Additional products to receive badges include Upland InGenius, a computer telephony integration solution powering personalized customer service with AI, and Upland InterFAX, a secure, cloud-based fax service, among others.

“AI is at the heart of our solutions, enabling customers to stay ahead of the curve and address business challenges quickly and efficiently,” said Dan Doman, Chief Product Officer at Upland Software. “We put the success of our customers first, continuing to innovate across our broad portfolio and leverage the transformative value of AI while maintaining security standards and minimizing risk. We are proud that the dedication and passion of our team members in driving results for our customers is shown through these G2 recognitions.”

A recent Qvidian reviewer, Keith G. at a mid-market size company, said, “Over the last few years, I’ve been contacted by several competing proposal management software companies with claims of a better product at a better price. In pretty much every case, I’ve found that after a short conversation the software is more expensive and does not have the robust functionality that Qvidian has. If there’s a better (or even similar) product on the market, I haven’t seen it.”

Organizations migrating workloads to the AWS cloud can seamlessly install and deploy Dynatrace for their observability needs, facilitating smooth end-user experiences

Dynatrace (NYSE:DT), the leader in unified observability and security, today announced its observability platform is now integrated with AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), making it the first AWS partner to be natively integrated.

AWS MGN enables organizations to relocate applications and infrastructure efficiently and securely to the AWS Cloud, and to stay operational during the transition without impact to their services. With this integration, organizations can automatically install and deploy the Dynatrace® platform from the moment they start running in the AWS Cloud, delivering immediate access to comprehensive observability capabilities. This allows organizations to embrace the benefits of the cloud with confidence and to deliver best-in-class end-user experiences.

“To scale new and existing applications while controlling costs, enterprises are continuing to migrate additional workloads to the cloud,” said Jevin Jensen, Research Vice President, Intelligent CloudOps Markets at IDC. “This migration holds the promise of delivering improved business outcomes, but the process itself can be challenging. IT leaders need to consider a comprehensive solution that integrates their observability platform with their public cloud provider. Only then can enterprises gain full insight into their current on-premises workloads and ensure seamless, efficient, and secure application performance during and after cloud migration.”

Dynatrace’s integration with AWS MGN enables organizations to quickly and securely leverage the Dynatrace platform for:

  • Optimizing performance: By continuously monitoring applications and automatically addressing potential issues before they escalate, Dynatrace helps teams maintain high performance and availability.
  • Managing costs: By understanding which parts of an application are using the most resources, Dynatrace enables teams to adjust and reduce costs.
  • Understanding user experiences: Detailed insights into user interactions help teams improve the user experience, leading to higher satisfaction and retention.
  • Addressing compliance and security: Dynatrace provides detailed logs and performance metrics, helping teams meet regulatory requirements and detect unusual activity.

“We’re thrilled to be the first AWS partner to be integrated with AWS Application Migration Service,” said Jay Snyder, SVP, Global Partner and Alliances at Dynatrace. “This integration will serve to help our joint global customers accelerate their cloud migration and modernization efforts at speed and scale, an effort that requires complete visibility into application performance. With actionable, contextualized insights and advanced AI and automation at their fingertips, Dynatrace users can navigate their digital transformation with greater confidence about the stability and security of their environment.”

Report examines key drivers impacting the IT channel and reseller market as partners support SMBs on their digital agility journeys by adopting critical technologies to succeed in the digital-first economy.

A new study from Sage, the leader in accounting, financial, HR, and payroll technology for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), reveals the evolving role of technology channel and reseller partners in the U.S. and Canada. The study indicates a shift from point solutions providers and integrators to strategic advisors for SMBs, unlocking significant growth opportunities and paving the way for greater digital agility.

The report, ‘Small and medium-sized business demand for digital advisory services fuels IT channel growth’, surveyed 2,800 technology channel decision-makers globally, including in the U.S. and Canada, to better understand the key drivers impacting the IT channel and reseller market today.

The research highlights that the majority of technology resellers in the U.S. (59%) and Canada (52%) have shifted their focus toward providing strategic advice and services, aiming to improve SMBs’ ability to swiftly adapt to market shifts, new technological breakthroughs and evolving customer demands.

The report found that almost three-quarters of SMBs in the U.S. (73%) and Canada (74%) see investing in digital agility as a high priority, believing it will drive business growth (30%), followed by enhance competitiveness in the U.S. (25%), and increase efficiency in Canada (26%).

“These findings mark a significant shift within the channel industry. The move toward more personalized solutions and stronger customer relationships is revolutionizing our support for SMBs,” says Sippora Veen, VP Global Partner Marketing at Sage. “With the adoption of advanced technologies like AI, and a commitment to building skills, we are better positioned to help SMBs face challenges and thrive in the digital era. This collaboration is essential for fostering innovation and mutual growth.”

Key findings include:

  • Shift to Advisory Roles: U.S. and Canadian channel leaders are split on what is driving the shift to advisory roles with U.S. leaders citing the use of technology and data analytics for personalized solutions (59%), increased competition in the market requiring differentiation and value-added services (57%) and desire to build stronger customer relationships (55%). In Canada, leaders attribute the shift to the need to keep up with shifting customer demands (56%) and building stronger customer relationships (53%).
  • Digital Agility of SMBs: Almost two-thirds of Canadian SMBs (64%) and half of SMBs (51%) in the U.S. are recognized as ‘fairly digitally agile’ by channel leaders, highlighting their quick adoption of technologies that enhance efficiency and customer experience. However, only 39% of U.S. and 28% of Canadian partners feel SMBs are adequately prepared for future disruptions. Continuous investment in digital tools and training, supported by channel partners, is essential for maximizing the benefits of a digital-first approach.
  • Challenges in Driving Digital Agility: The report identifies the main obstacle preventing channel partners from effectively supporting SMBs as the complexity of technology and integration processes. In the U.S., channel partners face significant challenges in providing advisory services, primarily due to keeping up with evolving technology and balancing priorities (both at 48%), along with SMB resistance to advisory services (45%). Similarly, in Canada, nearly half of the channel partners (47%) cite the complexity of technology and integration processes as the top hindrance to supporting SMBs’ digital agility journey.
  • Adoption of Innovative Technologies: The majority of U.S. channel partners are focused on driving the adoption of innovative technologies (59%), while 52% of Canadian resellers are prioritizing offering strategic advice and solutions. This is to ensure that SMBs not only access but effectively utilize technology to enhance responsiveness and competitive edge in a rapidly changing market.
  • Critical Technologies: Channel leaders in both Canada (62%) and the U.S. (56%) believe cybersecurity solutions are the most instrumental in fostering digital agility. AI and automation followed closely, with 58% in Canada and 56% in the U.S. finding these as the second most critical technologies. Focusing on these areas can enhance SMB efficiency, and security.

“Having spent over 25 years in the channel, I have observed a shift within the SMB market propelled by the need for growth, competitiveness, and efficiency. More SMBs are now prioritizing digital agility to remain competitive and resilient in a constantly evolving business environment,” says Susan Vincent, Managing Director, Baker Tilly and Sage Partner. “As channel leaders, we must shift towards a consultative approach to support our customers and help them activate the latest technologies with ease. It’s time to adapt and stand out.”

Sage’s research underscores the importance of deepening collaboration between IT resellers and SMBs to fully harness new technologies and enhance resilience against market changes. By focusing on areas like cybersecurity, digital transformation, and operational efficiency, IT resellers can boost their growth while helping SMBs successfully navigate these challenges.

“Digital agility is the new currency for SMBs, and channel partners play a critical role in enabling businesses to leverage innovative solutions that optimize operations, improve efficiency, and enhance profitability. With technology evolving so quickly, it’s crucial for us to stay ahead of the curve and adopt the correct tools as soon as possible,” says Robert Colelli, Managing Principal, Operations, Cresa Toronto. “AI and cybersecurity are key in driving our digital agility and we rely on our IT suppliers to help us identify and deploy the right solutions that are tailored and adaptable to our growth strategy. With their support and invaluable advice, we can navigate the challenges of digital transformation much easier and increase our ability to pivot as necessary in a challenging economic landscape.”

Former Insight M and Palantir leader to bolster the scale and AI capabilities of the company’s immune organoid platform for drug discovery

Parallel Bio, a biotech company using the immune system to cure disease, today announced that Ari Gesher has joined as the first head of technology. He will oversee technical infrastructure and the development of advanced AI and robotics infrastructure to rapidly scale its immune organoid platform for drug discovery.

Gesher joins from Insight M (formerly known as Kairos Aerospace), most recently as chief technology officer, where he spent more than seven years developing and growing its wide-area aerial methane detection technology used to manage industrial emissions of the greenhouse gas. Before that, he spent 10 years at Palantir in various engineering and outreach roles, joining in 2006 as one of the first software engineers at the big data software company.

“Ari knows how to solve the tough problems of industrializing and scaling technologies in completely new fields and turning them into world-class platforms,” said Robert DiFazio, co-founder and CEO of Parallel Bio. “His proven leadership and technical prowess will serve us well as we pioneer a completely new way of discovering drugs proven to work in humans from the start.”

Gesher will work with DiFazio and Juliana Hilliard, co-founder and chief scientific officer, on advancing its immune system platform with a focus on software development and the application of AI and robotics to automate lab processes and organoid creation, analyze and report on studies and experiments, and build predictive disease models from biological data.

Parallel Bio’s first platform for scalable and repeatable biology uses arrays of lymph-node organoids to replicate the immune systems of diverse human populations. Organoids are 3D, self-assembling models of human biology, or so-called “mini organs.” They mimic the structure and function of parts of the human body and their response to disease or treatment as if the organoids were individual patients.

“This is a rare opportunity to combine my passion for developing deep technology with cutting-edge applications of human biology to treat human disease better, cheaper, and faster than ever before,” Gesher said. “Working on the frontiers of industrial automation and computational biology, the founding team is well positioned to upend the industry’s reliance on animal models and flip the 95% drug failure rate on its head.”

Parallel Bio recently released its first commercial application called Clinical Trial in a Dish, which studies the efficacy and safety of new immunotherapies using human models at the earliest stages of drug discovery. Five pharmaceutical companies, including a Fortune 500 firm, have begun testing 20 drug candidates with the alternative to animal tests.
